 Traditional cuisine
The Romanian ethnic cuisine is necessary to liking to true gourmets. The main thing in dishes of the Romanian restaurants is meat which is used in all kinds and in every possible combination with the other components. Mutton, ragout of giblets "tocatura", smoked goat meat, fried sausages on coals "patricieni", omelettes with cheese,  ham and mushrooms, chicken stewed in cast-iron kettle, "ciulama de olteni " made of chicken with mamalyga, stewed in layers cabbage with meat, roast of meat and vegetables "tocana", shish kebab of  liver "frigarui", ragout of veal "ciulama", dish of lamb giblets "drob", fried on coals cutlers with mustard "mititei", beef with red pepper and flour trickled pastries "paprikas de vintel", the Moldavian jelly from bird and pork, fried and marinated fish with various garnishes, fish "ghiuveci" with vegetables, lamb on spit, shish kebab, kebab, musaka etc. are very tasty and popular.
Traditions and behavior rules in the country
Bucharest is much more safe than the majority of the other European capitals. Small thefts and swindle take place sometimes but usually happen far from the main sights and eyes of the police the powers of which are very strong in this country. Checks in streets happen not often, but are performed scrupulously and carefully. For this case one should always have a copy of the passport or driving license. Also one should remember that it is forbidden to make photos of the  military constructions, bridges and ports. Tap water is thoroughly chlorinated and consequently is rather safe, but can cause gastric frustration. It is recommended for tourists to drink bottled or boiled water.
